WHAT IS IT?

A title sequence for Channel 4's It's a Sin. The miniseries focuses on 5 friends from the UK as they navigate the HIV/AIDS crisis in the 80s.

 I first  thought  of  doing  a  more  well  known  movie  or show,  but  I  decided  to  pivot  to  highlight  a show  that  not  many  have  seen  but  had  a  very  important story  to  tell.  With  little  to  no information  on  how  HIV/AIDS  was  spread,  people  feared and  began  to  blame  the  gay community  as  they  were  hit  the  hardest.  I  wanted  to utilize  HIV/AIDS  posters  from  the  1980s and  90s  to  create  a  shocking  and  unsettling  title sequence  that  puts  queer  history  at  the  forfront while  capturing  the  spirit  of  the show  and  its  characters. The  posters  I  chose  to  use  were  carefully  selected to  reveal  subtle  nuances  to  a  characters’ personality  or  storyline.
